Lady GaGa’s name turned Calvin Harris away

In January 2008, Scottish singer-songwriter and record producer Calvin Harris received a mail from a wannabe singer who asked him to work with her. Calvin, however, turned her down - her name “Gaga” didn’t lick with him. One year passed since then and the same name of Lady Gaga is worth millions now. Although Calvin says he has no regrets as the song he heard from her then was not so good.

After singer-songwriter and record producer Akon recognised that Gaga also had vocal talent, he signed her to a joint deal with his own label, Kon Live Distribution, and then started to work on her own new material for her debut album. In 2008, Gaga released The Fame, which she explained was “about how anyone can feel famous”. To date, the album spawned the international hit singles “Just Dance” and “Poker Face”.

Love Game ha sido prohibido en la TV Australiana por "frecuentes referencias sexuales tanto verbales como visuales".

La canción, No 18 en Australia esta semana, repite el eufemismo sexual "I wanna take a ride on your disco stick'' " varias veces.....Y al parecer, canal 10s, no ha querido pasarlo.

"esto es muy particular, conseguimos un clip que es tan sexual al punto de que no hay forma de corregirlo sin destruir la intención orginal del video" señaló ayer Ben Fletcher productor de Video Hits.

Los censores de ten se opusieron a la letra "heavy touching'', "I'm educated in sex'' and "I want it bad'' as well as Gaga's "sexual postures'' in her dance moves, a near-naked outfit and her male dancer's "fetish-like costumes''.

Lady GaGa Love Game video banned from Australian TV

RACY pop star Lady Gaga is too sexy for Australian TV censors, with her clip for Love Game banned for "frequent verbal and visual sexual references".

The song, at No.18 in Australia this week, repeats the sexual euphemism "I wanna take a ride on your disco stick'' multiple times..

Channel 10's in-house censors have given Love Game an M rating; clips must be rated either G or PG to appear on Video Hits, reports The Herald Sun.

"It's pretty rare we get a pop clip that's sexual to the point there's almost no way we can edit it without destroying the original intent of the video,'' Video Hits producer Ben Fletcher said yesterday.

Ten's censors objected to the lyrics "heavy touching'', "I'm educated in sex'' and "I want it bad'' as well as Gaga's "sexual postures'' in her dance moves, a near-naked outfit and her male dancer's "fetish-like costumes''.

"The Fame", sigue liderando en las listas de los Charts de U.K. Porque "Poker Face" comenzó una tercera semana en lo alto del EuroChart.

Lady GaGa completed a U.K. chart double yesterday (Sunday) as her Interscope/Universal album "The Fame" rose 3-1 and the single "Poker Face" began a third week at the top.

"The Fame" hit the album summit in its 12th week on the chart, as Kings of Leon's "Only By The Night" (Hand Me Down/Sony BMG) held at No. 2 and "The Annie Lennox Collection" (RCA/Sony BMG) moved back 5-3. Ronan Keating's "Songs For My Mother" (Polydor/Universal), which led the survey for the last two weeks, fell back to No. 4.

"Poker Face" continues to lead the singles chart on download sales alone, which have now passed 300,000, according to U.K. Chart Company data, ahead of a physical release next Monday (13). The Noisettes' "Don't Upset The Rhythm" (Vertigo/Universal) stayed at No. 2 as "Jai Ho (You Are My Destiny)" (Interscope/Universal) by A.R. Rahman featuring Pussycat Dolls moved 5-3. There were also climbs for Metro Station's "Shake It" (Columbia/Sony BMG), 9-6, and La Roux's "In For The Kill" (Polydor/Universal), 11-7.

The Lady GaGa track is in a sixth week atop Billboard's Eurochart Hot 100 Singles, while U2 spend a fourth week atop European Top 100 Albums with "No Line on the Horizon"

"I Poke Her Face", a brand new song from Kid Cudi has come out, featuring Lady GaGa. The track is expected to be included in his upcoming debut studio album "Man on the Moon: The Guardians", which is due for release in summer.

Sampling Lady GaGa's smash hit "Poker Face", "I Poke Her Face" is a song where Kid Cudi also teams up with Kanye West and Common in addition to joining forces with Lady GaGa. "A stripper from the South, looking for a payday / Said bitch you should do it for the love like Ray J," part of the song's lyrics read.

Previously, Kid Cudi posted a message on his blog, saying that he is "not making anymore solo albums" after "Man on the Moon: The Guardians" is dropped. But, he quickly clarified the news during 2009 SXSW music festival taking place on Thursday, March 19 at Aces Lounge in Austin, Texas.

"You remember when Spiderman didn't want to be Spiderman no more?" Kid Cudi told the crowd at the event. "Cause his personal life was so f***** up, but he was just, like, killing s*** as Spiderman...? So I can't stop, you know what I mean, .. no more retirement."

To my beautiful, talented, luminous fans,

I am so terribly sad about the postponed performances. I wanted to tell you all, that although many assume it’s because of Idol, the truth is I have had a high fever and some crazy virus for days, and I am still sick. We are very pleased with how Idol went, but after weeks of not a day off my schedule, my team and doctor felt it imperative that I sleep for a few days.
My friends surprised me with a birthday cake and pinata post show at a friends art studio last night, my spirits are already higher, and I am now straight back to bed to sleep for the next couple days.

But, I could barely sleep in this morning thinking about all of you. And while some I’m sure are inventing curse words for me, the shows have now been moved to bigger venues. for more dancing, more sweating, and more of my props to fit on stage. your support means everything to me, and I am truly very sorry if I’ve upset anyone. And to my gay fans, please know that I’m always thinking about you, and how I can give you and every tour date the absolute best performance of my life. I will see you all for Dinah Shore this weekend. I love you more than words or music can express.

The band uploaded rehearsal footage to their website recently which showed drummer Matt Helders and singer Alex Turner performing an impromptu version of the pop track.

Sheffield’s finest are currently working on their third album and were announced to headline Reading and Leeds festivals this week.

Arctic Monkeys are currently in the US completing sessions and have been working with Queens Of The Stone Age singer Josh Homme.

Rap mogul P Diddy recently revealed he’d been hanging with the boys by tweeting: “Still partying!! Just kickin it wit my boy matt from the ARCTIC MONKEYs! I'm the the newest member of the GROUP! I'm signing him to bad boy.”

US pop star Lady GaGa has taken the number one spot on the UK singles chart for a second week with Poker Face.

The brash singer, who spent three weeks at number one with her debut single Just Dance earlier this year, held off competition from The Noisettes.

On the albums chart, Ronan Keating kept hold of the top spot with Songs For My Mother, followed by the Kings of Leon at two and Lady GaGa at number three.

Mediabase como muchos lo saben es el conteo del Airplay, es decir de la posición en la que se ubica la canción entre las radios de USA. En cuanto a ello, PokerFace se encuentra en la posición #3 de MB. Mientras que Just Dance, el primer Single de Lady Gaga, se ubica en el número #12 tras Heartless de Kanye West. Posiciones que son excelentes ya que aún se encuentra en el TOP 20.
